The Children's International Theatre Festival ran from the 23rd to 29th May 2006. This year, the Festival presented 13 world class productions from Scotland, England, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and France for children aged between 1 and 14 years of age.

76 performances were presented over seven days in Edinburgh theatres and art centres to an audience of over 10,000 children and their school teachers and families.
