CONCERNS FOREIGN THEATRES

Dear Friends,

We would like to inform you that the Banialuka Puppet Theatre in Bielsko-Biala, Poland is preparing the XXIInd edition of our International Festival of Puppetry Art. Our next festival will be held in Bielsko-Biala from 20 ? 24 May 2006.

The festival shall host productions of puppetry and visual theatre, for both adults and children alike. We are looking for unique performances and new means of theatrical expression. The shows should be visually-based and have a minimum of words, as we have an international audience during our festival. The festival is organized as a competition ? the professional jury grants the Grand Prix (a financial prize). There are also The Young Critics Award and The Children?s Jury Award. During the festival, various arts exhibition, outdoor performances, discussions and various theatrical events take place.

The festival will cover the costs of groups (hotels, meals) staying in Bielsko-Biala and we also pay a performance fee, an amount which will be negotiated individually. We would appreciate your help to raise funds from your local government institutions and sponsors to help share the costs of your participation in our festival.

We enclose an application form (see attached). If you are interested in participating in our festival, please send us your completed application form, together with a video/VCD/ DVD recording and a brief summary of your production, including information about your company.

The closing date for applications is 31 October 2005. Our artistic commission will select the productions to be included in the festival program by the end of December 2005.
